Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021 !

A year full of surprises is now ended. Let's lift up ourself and face a new adventure this year !

Pre-pandemic life

About January 2020 until mid March 2020 would be the most happiest time for almost everyone around me. Those are the times when we are not event notice the Corona Virus Disease 19 (Covid19) is about to change the way we live for almost a year ahead. Almost no people were wearing masks even we had heard news from Wuhan where this virus is deadly and only a few were wearing masks to prevent those virus (even sometimes i thought it was funny to wear mask everytime you walked out your house). At this time, i was still attending my classes as PPTI BCA student at BCA Learning Institute. everyday was a normal day until hand sanitizers are everywhere around the building and our security guards started to check our body temperature before entering the building. It was the beginning of the pandemic.

Learning From Home

In the second week of March 2020, an announcement was given by the government. The virus has infected some people in Indonesia and prevention action is needed to prevent the spreading (although it is spreaded now LOL). It was the first time i tried Microsoft Teams. From that day forward, I had been staying at home for about entirely 4 months. It was kinda unique where we were joining class online and we didn't have to get far away from our bed. But it was also weird where we can't see each other as we used to be during normal class. Exams was also conducted in different ways where it was more likely to be project-based and online submitted.

On Job Training (Internship)

Starting on mid July 2020, a new term is coming where it is now time for internship. It all started with an interview from PT. Bank Central Asia human resource and recruitment division. I was placed at a team that maintain Klik Bca Bisnis - Integrated Solution (corporate banking app) as a role of Software Quality Improvement. This internship has taught me mostly about how to work in corporate envrionment.

End of Year

The end of this year was totally different that it was in the previous year. No crowds and no new year party was allowed. The roads and public spots where people used to have new year party was filled with emptiness. There were less fireworks compared to 2019.

Conclusion

Top of all, the year 2020 might be a year with least adventure to be experiences. It felt just like a time machine where it all started in January but suddenly it was almost December. But it was the year that we all learn to survive. 2020 has taught us how to transform our life to be cleaner and more hygiene (i think i washed my hands much more than it was in 2019 :p). Hope 2021 will be a better year and we can all recover from this pandemic.
